UX Intern
At Red Pill Analytics I learned how to create dashboards and analyses using the Oracle Business Intelligence tools. By creating meaningful analyses and forming them into dashboards that tell a story, I learned a lot about the value of information visualization, what information is useful to businesses, and how to best display that information.

Summer 2015

Macy's Systems and Technology

At Macy's I worked to create a web-based dashboard that visualized warehouse data retrieved from Oracle databases. I primarily used d3.js, HTML, and CSS to make an easy to read, pleasing, and meaningful dashboard that would help warehouse managers better understand what was happening at any given time.

Elavon is where I truly learned how user experience design works, and where I grew into the mature senior designer that I am today. Here I learned how to work within an Agile team, conduct various forms of user research and user testing techniques, create detailed and interactive wireframes. I am trusted with maintaining customer focus, conducting thorough user research, creating full wireframes as a lead designer, and managing a small team of designers. I ensure that accessibility standards are being met and always keep accessibility top of mind throughout my design process.

I received regular feedback and constructive criticism. I also wrote my own user testing plans and conducted in-house testing. I analyzed data received from tests conducted on UserTesting.com and wrote up pain points and action items for the team moving forward. Towards the end, I ran browser accessibility tests on one of the web-based products and proposed changes to the code to be ADA compliant.
